Tola Familoni Joins CLA Board of Directors

We are thrilled to welcome Tola Familoni to the CLA team! Tola is a criminal defense attorney, licensed in both Washington, D.C. and South Carolina. He currently works as a Public Defender in Charleston, where he represents the indigent accused. Originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island and the son of Nigerian immigrants, Tola moved to Charleston in 2017 with the aim of advocating for those who would otherwise go unheard.

Tola shares “Having watched the wonderful impact that CLA has had from afar since I first moved to Charleston, when the opportunity arose to join the board and be involved in that impact, I felt it was an opportunity I had to seize. For years CLA has been working diligently to serve individuals who so frequently fall between the cracks and are forced to fend for themselves. In a country such as ours, that is simply unacceptable. I am thrilled to be able to help CLA grow and achieve its aims of helping as many people as it feasibly can. I am a true believe in its mission and will do whatever I can to see it fulfilled!”

Welcome to the team, Tola! We are excited to see the impact you will make in our community.
