1. Make a year end gift to CLA
As 2021 comes to an end and you are deciding which charities to give towards, we would be grateful to be considered. We are asking your help to keep our client fees low and serve more individuals in the Lowcountry. Currently, client fees only cover 25% of our operating costs. With the demand for services increasing, one time or monthly gifts are needed to ensure we can keep our services affordable to low- and moderate-income families.
2. Choose Charleston Legal Access as your Amazon Smile Charity
When you use smile.amazon.com to purchase items, Amazon will donate a percentage of your purchase, at no cost to you, to your charity of choice. Because of supporters like you, Amazon has donated over $472 as of December 2021!

4. Donate Stock to CLA
Did you know donating stock is the most tax-savvy way to give? By giving stock, you avoid paying capital gains taxes and this allows you to take an income tax deduction.This year, we are proud to share we had our first stock donation and are now able to receive stocks! 5. Mark Your Calendar for Charleston Legal Access' 6th Anniversary Celebration
We are excited to share the details of our annual anniversary event. More details to come but for now, please save the date on Wednesday April 20, 2022 from 5:30PM - 7:30PM at The Gibbes Museum of Art. Official invitation to follow in 2022!
Charleston Legal Access is Charleston's first nonprofit, sliding-scale law firm. We do not provide free legal services, but we will work at a price that those of moderate means can afford. Hourly rates are determined on an individual basis by a client's income and family size. Our initial screening and phone consultations with an attorney are completely free. In-person, 1-2 hour case consultations and limited assistance sessions are available for a flat fee of $50-$100.
With client fees only covering 25% of our operational expenses and a rise in demand for services, we are seeking like-minded partners to support our cause. Help us expand access to justice and legal representation by making a tax-deductible donation below.
