We are excited to announce CLA continues to grow! Please help us welcome Alex Russell who will serve as our first Development Manager. This new position was created to help sustain CLA’s mission and to engage our philanthropic partners and donors.
Alex Russell joins us as Development Manager. Alex's has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She has served in various leadership roles within nonprofits, higher education institutions, and entrepreneurial start-ups. Her experience and passions include advocating for justice and equitable systems, community organizing, and program development. In her free time, you can find Alex kayak fishing or spending time outdoors with her husband and retired racing greyhound, Kevin.

Charleston Legal Access is Charleston's first nonprofit, sliding-scale law firm. We do not provide free legal services, but we will work at a price that those of moderate means can afford. Hourly rates are determined on an individual basis by a client's income and family size. Our initial screening and phone consultations with an attorney are completely free. In-person, 1-2 hour case consultations and limited assistance sessions are available for a flat fee of $50-$100.
